The boxplot is a statistical analysis graph used to obtain, in the first instance, the shape of the distribution of our data. Thanks to this, we can obtain, at a glance, relevant metrics such as: the maximum value, the minimum value, the median, the 25th percentile (or first quartile), and the 75th percentile (or third quartile). These values appear as a box with a (white) line that divides it into two (not necessarily symmetrical parts).
The median is represented by this dividing line (white), while the quartiles are represented by the two lines that delimit the box and are parallel to the median line.
In addition to the box, lines appear at each end of the box between the minimum and maximum values.
Notes:
The pie chart, or pie chart, is a simple chart to interpret, but at the same time it provides a lot of information in a quick and visual way. Each of the sectors or portions that make up the chart refer to one of the data categories and the size of these portions represents the share of each category in the total. Most commonly, these quantities are represented in percentages.
In our particular case, the diagram consists of three different sectors:
The graph is accompanied by the following legend (Figure 3), which specifies the exact percentage of time* for each of the sectors:
*Percentage of time as the time elapsed in each time slot, not the absolute amount/frequency of data.
The line chart is a time series that refers to the evolution of the data displayed over time. The X-axis of the graph breaks down the dates of the measurements, while the Y-axis refers to the numerical value of the measurement of each of the parameters.
This chart, like the pie chart, is composed of different sections, but this time, in linear form instead of circular.
Each of the progress bars will refer to the different indoor air quality indicators that we analyze inBiot. The three stripes inside these bars will refer to the percentage of time that data is recorded for each of the intervals during the time the space is occupied.
