Context

La Morea, one of the leading shopping centers in Pamplona, set out to enhance the comfort, safety, and overall experience of its visitors while optimizing the performance of its HVAC systems. Maintaining optimal indoor air quality and thermal comfort in such a large, high-traffic environment posed a clear challenge, particularly one that demanded a balance between real-time environmental control and energy efficiency.

The building’s maintenance and operations team needed a solution that would provide continuous, centralized visibility of key air quality parameters, enabling informed decision-making and supporting a more responsive and efficient management of indoor conditions.

Solution

Managing air quality in a large commercial space like La Morea, with highly variable occupancy throughout the day, required a robust and autonomous monitoring system that could provide reliable insights without increasing operational complexity. The goal was clear : to ensure optimal indoor conditions for visitors while enabling the maintenance team to act quickly and efficiently based on real-time data.

To meet this challenge, La Morea deployed a comprehensive solution composed of :

  • 7 MICA devices, strategically installed across key areas of the shopping center to capture accurate environmental data on CO₂, temperature, humidity, and particulate matter.
  • My inBiot Business licenses, providing full access to the digital platform for centralized monitoring, remote access, and data visualization.
  • Built-in NB-IoT connectivity, ensuring autonomous data transmission without relying on the building’s internal network infrastructure.
  • Advanced platform features, including historical trend analysis, customizable reports, and real-time alerts for early detection of suboptimal air quality or thermal conditions.

The system was also integrated with the existing HVAC infrastructure, enabling dynamic adjustment of ventilation strategies based on actual environmental demand. This allowed the technical team to optimize comfort and reduce energy consumption, achieving more efficient building performance.

Outcomes & Benefits
