Mutua Navarra
Safer healthcare environments with IAQ monitoring

Sector:
Healthcare
Context

Mutua Navarra carried out spot air quality measurements for regulatory compliance, but did not have a continuous view of what was happening in the building. This lack of real-time monitoring made it difficult to understand how environmental conditions varied throughout the day and depending on occupancy, especially in offices, common areas, and spaces of greater technical sensitivity. The organisation sought to have continuous monitoring to better understand the behaviour of the building, optimise ventilation and air conditioning systems, improve the experience of workers and users, and move towards a more energy efficient operation.

In addition to CO₂, it was necessary to control other key parameters such as TVOC and particulate matter, in order to obtain a complete and reliable view of the environmental health of the centre and support data-driven decision making.

Solution

To provide Mutua Navarra with a continuous and centralised view of the building's environmental conditions, a solution based on real-time monitoring and unified data management from the digital platform was implemented.

  • 32 MICA devices, installed in offices, common areas, and communications rooms, for continuous monitoring of CO₂, TVOC, and particulate matter.
  • My inBiot Business, providing access to historical data, real-time alerts, and automated reports to support decision making.
  • WiFi connectivity, ensuring stable data transmission and integration with the building's infrastructure.

The installation was completed swiftly and without operational disruptions. Coordination with the IT department to enable the WiFi network was part of the process and was resolved quickly and without incidents.

Outcomes & Benefits
  • The maintenance team moved from operating reactively to anticipating issues thanks to real-time data, resolving incidents before they affected users or staff.
  • The occupancy patterns detected allowed ventilation and air conditioning to be adjusted, improving comfort and avoiding unnecessary consumption.
  • The organisation gained internal transparency by having objective information on the environmental status of each zone, reinforcing a preventive culture.
  • The Mutua established its first continuous IAQ monitoring strategy, creating an internal standard for future centres.
  • The data obtained facilitated technical decision making and the prioritisation of maintenance investments.
  • The project reinforced Mutua Navarra's position as a healthcare entity committed to environmental health and the experience of its users.

Testimonial

"inBiot's monitoring has given us a visibility we simply did not have before. We went from working with spot measurements to having real time data that allows us to anticipate problems, adjust ventilation according to occupancy, and improve the comfort of workers and users. In addition, the historical information is helping us make technical decisions with much greater confidence. For us, it has marked a before and after in the environmental management of the building."
