A major global player in the technology and consulting sector made a strategic move to improve employee wellbeing and optimize building performance. With teams distributed across multiple offices in Spain, the company sought a unified and scalable solution to monitor indoor air quality in real time.
The objective was clear and impact-driven : to foster healthier and more energy-efficient work environments, reinforce their ESG commitments, and support their roadmap toward WELL Certification. Achieving this vision required high-resolution, actionable environmental data, not only to comply with international standards, but also to drive daily decisions that benefit both people and infrastructure.
The organization faced the complex challenge of deploying a comprehensive environmental monitoring strategy across a wide range of buildings and technical environments. The solution needed to be robust yet flexible, easy to integrate into existing operations, and capable of delivering consistent, high-quality data, all while avoiding disruption to daily business activity.
To meet this need, over 300 MICA devices were deployed across multiple sites in Spain, tailored to the specific requirements of each space : MICA WELL for advanced IAQ monitoring aligned with WELL Certification standards, MICA for open-plan and meeting room environments, measuring CO₂, temperature, humidity, and particulate matter and MICA Mini in data centers, ensuring thermal and humidity stability to protect sensitive IT infrastructure.
All devices were equipped with NB-IoT / LTE-M connectivity, allowing fully autonomous, real-time data transmission without relying on external WiFi networks. This cellular-based approach enabled a truly distributed, plug-and-play system, simplifying deployment across geographically dispersed sites.
To support day-to-day operations and long-term decision-making, the solution included access to the My inBiot Business platform for live insights, smart alerts, and reporting. A custom global dashboard was developed for centralized IAQ management and business intelligence, while personalized onboarding and integration support ensured alignment with the client’s internal systems and processes.
- Healthier workspaces, improved performance : real-time environmental insights helped the organization to maintain optimal indoor conditions to support employee comfort, health, and productivity.
- Progress toward WELL Certification : with the implementation of MICA WELL, the company secured all IAQ-related points required for the certification, reinforcing the value and credibility of its office spaces.
- Operational efficiency through distributed intelligence : thanks to a fully autonomous, cellular-connected system, the client avoided complex installations and achieved cost-effective scalability across multiple locations.
- Energy savings and smarter HVAC management : by using data-driven ventilation and climate control strategies, energy consumption has been reduced while maintaining high levels of indoor comfort.
- IT infrastructure protection : MICA Mini devices provided 24/7 monitoring in data centers, helping to prevent thermal risks and ensure system reliability.
- Centralized control, decentralized power : with a global dashboard and local autonomy at each site, the company gained full visibility and the ability to act proactively based on real-time IAQ data.
