Fluitecnik
Scaling IAQ monitoring across Fluitecnik's offices and production plants

Context

Fluitecnik, an industrial engineering and renewable energies company operating from a facility in Orcoyen, Navarra, that combines technical offices and production plants, lacked any system for continuous indoor air quality monitoring. Without measurable data, the company could not detect environmental risk situations in real time, substantiate ventilation and HVAC decisions, or demonstrate occupational wellbeing to external stakeholders.

Implementing a scalable monitoring infrastructure became a strategic priority, directly aligned with Fluitecnik's culture of technical precision, its sustainability commitments, and the energy efficiency of its facilities.

Solution

The challenge was the complete absence of continuous indoor air measurement across both technical offices and production environments, where proximity to industrial processes and variable occupancy made real-time data a prerequisite for informed facility management.

The solution included:

  • 16 MICA devices (6 MICA and 10 MICA Mini): deployed across offices and production plants, connected via WiFi without dedicated network infrastructure or physical modifications to the building.
  • My inBiot Business platform with real-time dashboards, centralised multi sensor management, and remote access for all authorised user profiles.
  • Automated smart alerts and consolidated reports with threshold-based notifications for CO₂, particulate matter (PM), and TVOCs, plus exportable periodic reports compatible with Fluitecnik's quality management and internal audit processes.
  • Historical data with heatmap visualisation and role-based access for identification of air quality patterns by zone, hour, and day of the week, with permissions separating configuration and alert handling from read-only visualisation for general staff.

First deployed in March 2022 and expanded in 2023 and 2026, the infrastructure has scaled progressively across Fluitecnik's facilities without architectural changes.

Outcomes & Benefits
  • Proactive risk detection across offices and production plants allows the health and safety team to receive automated alerts when CO₂, particulate, or TVOC concentrations exceed defined thresholds, enabling corrective action before occupant exposure escalates.
  • Evidence-based ventilation management through heatmap analysis and full historical data allows the facilities team to replace subjective assessments with data-driven HVAC scheduling and ventilation decisions.
  • Audit-ready documentation is achieved through consolidated reports across all 16 devices that are exportable and directly compatible with Fluitecnik's internal quality management workflows and audit requirements.
  • Verifiable wellbeing reporting for external stakeholders is supported by continuous, documented air quality records that provide measurable evidence of occupant wellbeing for communications with clients, auditors, and external stakeholders.
  • Scalable infrastructure proven over time is demonstrated by the phased rollout across 2022, 2023, and 2026, confirming the capacity of the deployment to expand without additional network investment.

Testimonial

"Thanks to inBiot, we know in real time what the air quality is like in our offices and production plants. We used to manage ventilation based on intuition; now we have concrete data to base our decisions on. It also allows us to keep track of temperatures and objectively assess how each person perceives the environment. Furthermore, expanding the system to new phases of the project is very straightforward."
